I wrecked my car

I went to Greenville, SC this past saturday to see a friend for this 21st birthday. I got down there around one in the morning and partied with Charles Greer the birthday boy for about an hour until someone pulled the fire alarm.

We proceeded back to his friends house where I intended to spend the night. I drove down and two friends from Winthrop rode with me. Against my better judgement, after seein Chaz hugging the white porcelain god (the toilet) I felt good about myself and decided to drive back to Rock Hill. What was I thinking?

You see the title. The crash was dramatic but I am ok and the car was drivable but darn there goes Christmas.

Art Gallery

I took a class called ARTS 305 this semester. It was the introduction to photography class. In this class I learned many things. One thing I learned was about f-stops which is the number on your camera that determines how much light your camera is letting into your picture.

Another helpful hint I learned was about the shutter speed of your camerea. This is the rate at which your shutter opens and closes to catch light and freeze the image which you are photographing. There are also a couple other principles of photography such as the rule of thirds, composition, filters and many different kinds of light settings.

It was a very enjoyable class and for our final exam we had an art gallery showing with twelve of our best shots hung on walls for our friends and loved ones to see. My mother and grandmother attended.

These are a few of the pictures I used in my gallery.

I sold my SKS

I sold my bigger gun for a smaller gun. After finding out the true meaning of being the wrong place at the wrong time. CHOPPA was my first gun and it was hard to sell her. But I needed something that would fit in my pocket. So I went to Rock Hill Pawn Shop on North Cherry Rd. and bought a highpoint 40 caliber pistol for $173.00.

I can say that I now am able to take my gun everywhere it is permitted. I dont have anyone looking for me and I dont have enemies for the most part. But with the world getting crazier by the day I think having a pocket rocket is a good idea.

Guns dont kill people. People kill people.

My cousin got stabbed

I know I do not go home a lot and some who read this blog may agree. Once you leave home its almost like why go back for me.

In Spartanburg there are a lot of killings and other physical altercations. In 2000 my first cousin Fred Landrum was shot at Applebees by the Westgate Mall in Spartanburg. It was a case of mistaken identity. Unfortunately he was partially paralyzed in the shotting and now he has to walk with to forearm crutches or be pushed in a wheelchair. That is not the most recent of violence that struck home for me.

Less than a month ago my cousin was stabbed at Club Hush also located in close proximity to Westgate Mall. He was stabbed three times, twice in the back and once in the arm. This occured during a fight and he was not aware of what happened until he got outside. He was rushed to the hospital and was rushed to surgery where his lung collapsed. He was stabilized and remained in the hospital for two days.

On the day of his release he reopened a wound on his back and a blood clot formed. He had to be put back into surgery but, he pulled out and he is doing fine now.

My grandmother's birthday

My grandmother who is the mother of my mother. Turned 85 on October 23rd but we had her birthday party on Saturday October 20th. I saw many of my family members who I had not seen for a few months and I was happy and relieved to see them all. Thankfully this year I was fortunate enough not to lose any family members who are close to my heart. But I must take a couple of lines aside to say I did lose a great friend in DeAndre Adams whom I had seen just two days before he went home to Georgia for the last time. R.I.P. Dre

There was lots of food and laughter and more kids than you could count on one hand. I love all of my younger cousins who have not graduated from elementary school. They are my favorite people to spend time with during the holidays because someone has too watch them. But, when I get tired of watching them they go where I tell them to and I never have to worry about them asking me where I am going when I get ready to leave the house.

I am the youngest of three boys and everytime we get together its time to wrestle. I must say if you come to my house you have to have thick skin because if you cant wrestle you better be able to take a good joke as well as dish them out. Being quiet only gets you picked on more.

My first GUN

SKS A.K.A CHOPPA After I came back from my weekend birthday trip to Athens, Ohio. On Tuesday, October 16th I went to Teague's Pawn Shop located on South Cherry Rd. right across the street from the Rock Hill stadium. I had just turned 21 on Sunday, October 14th. My six hour drive was definitely a step towards being completely legal for me. But, for some reason when I woke up in that morning the first thing I wanted to do was go buy myself a gun. I'm not sure why I was so determined to have a gun so quickly after my 21st birthday but I knew it had to happen. I walked in and within ten minutes of being inside the store I knew what I wanted. It was an all black SKS that shoots 7.62*39mm bullets. I was in love from the moment I saw CHOPPA. That was the name I gave my gun. It came with a thirty round clip (drum). I took CHOPPA out the same day to let her empty the drum. It was quite the rush to think that I actually owned and was shooting the same gun that some entertainers talk about in their songs. After I bought my gun the next weekend was going to be my grandmother's birthday and I cannot wait to tell you about that in my next blog.
